It’s been a bit quiet around here the last couple of days, and I want to explain to you what’s going on behind the scenes. There are some new and exciting changes taking place here, thanks to Google’s recent changes to the Blogger comment section on Blogger blogs. I’m saying Goodbye and Adios to Blogger, and moving to WordPress. It’s very unsettling to have no control over what takes place on my blog, and since Google owns Blogger, they have every right to do what they choose whether I like it or not. I don’t like it, so I’m outta here! Even though I’ve since read posts explaining how Google is implementing a new Open Id option, I’m not sticking around long enough to even bother with it.
The new WordPress layout has been chosen, from Courtney Tuttle’s collection, including some very nice tweaks and awesome graphics that I’m simply thrilled with. I cannot thank Snoskred enough for helping get this accomplished. I know I couldn’t have done it without her. She and I have been emailing back and forth the last couple of days, discussing the various options available for the new and improved WordPress blog. Snoskred, I am forever in your debt. Literally speaking, since the new blog is being hosted with her (for next to nothing)! Thank you so much! This new blog is my Christmas present for myself that will last year after year.
I’ve also been busy reading as much as possible on how to do a variety of things with my new WordPress blog, using images in posts, etc. My current images are hosted on Blogger, and over time those will likely be moved elsewhere and the Blogger blog will be deleted. There are so many WordPress plugins that I had a hard time deciding which ones to use and which to leave out. I’ve heard that having too many plugins can actually break a blog, so I’m trying to keep in mind that less is more.
I’m very excited about the new blog and how it looks. I honestly believe that all my readers, and new ones to come, will thoroughly enjoy the new Telling It Like It Is. Stay tuned ‘cause it won’t be long now.
